The highly anticipated Dulquer Salmaan starring and producing feature film, ‘Kurup’, premieres tomorrow and the 15 month waiting period is finally over. It has been a long time coming and with its impending release, the actor-producer has made some bold and interesting promotions. Some of them have been normal – like the first single release and the trailer release, however, yesterday Dulquer unveiled the trailer for his upcoming feature film and projected it onto the tallest building in the world, The Burj Khalifa in Dubai, U.A.E. And when he did this, ‘Kurup’ became the first film to project a promo onto the world’s tallest building. The promo worked and social media have been buzzing like crazy in the last 24 hours. Now, all that is left now is to wait for the movie to premiere.
So, here is everything you need to know before the film drops tomorrow:
What Is It About?
‘Kurup’ is based on Sukumara Kurup, who is India’s longest missing fugitive till date. According to this film, Sukumara Kurup was a cop in training, before he faked his death by killing a man who resembled him in appearance. He then collected the insurance money worth Rs. 8 Lakhs registered in his name and disappeared. Dulquer Salmaan will be portraying the titular character in ‘Kurup’.
How & When?
The film premieres tomorrow, on 12th November 2021. It will premiere in theatres around the country and in certain theatres around the globe. Because of its recent promo in UAE, we feel that this film will be released in a lot of theatres in the Middle East.
If It Is Not Releasing In A Theatre Near Me?
The likelihood of this happening is quite low… but if it does happen, then it is better to wait. Netflix wanted to release this film directly for streaming, before Mammootty intervened and asked the filmmakers to release the film in theatres. So, we feel that in a couple of months, this movie will be making its way to an OTT platform – most likely, Netflix.
