Ajay Devgn and Tabu starrer ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ has got a new official release date finally and the Neeraj Pandey (‘A Wednesday!’, ‘Special 26’, ‘Baby’, ‘M. S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’) film will now release in theatres on 2nd August, 2024. It will now clash with Janhvi Kapoor’s ‘Ulajh’ which ironically also had the same date change.
‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ was earlier scheduled for release in cinemas on 5th July, but with ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ dominating the box office and also ‘Kill’ getting huge hype before release, the makers thought to postpone the film for good.
And it does seem to be a right decision given how ‘Kill’ is getting rave reviews from critics and public, alongside ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, being the biggest film of the year, continuing to attract the masses.
‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ is a romantic melodrama and while it might have a good storyline, given Neeraj Pandey’s great filmmaking skills and Ajay Devgn and Tabu being phenomenal actors, it does not seem to be a mass puller. Even Ajay Devgn’s fandom won’t suffice for that.
Moreover, ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’s’ marketing hasn’t been upto the mark and the film doesn’t have enough buzz. Whatever limited promotional material is out there feels sub-standard and lacks the spark to create interest.
Therefore if the film is not sold well enough before its release no shifts in release date is gonna save the film. Wishing all good things for ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’, as it seriously needs it at the moment.
