Zee5 is probably turning their espionage thriller, “London Confidential: The Chinese Conspiracy” into a franchise with its latest announcement of a new original film, “Lahore Confidential”. This time it will be helmed by Kunal Kohli (Hum Tum, Fanaa).
The logo poster for “Lahore Confidential” was released on Zee5’s social media saying, “First, London and now Lahore; these spies won’t rest until our country is safe. #LahoreConfidential, directed by @kunalkohli. Coming soon.”
Ajay G. Rai’s JAR Pictures will produce “Lahore Confidential”, the same company that produced “London Confidential“. Apart form the ‘Confidential’ franchise Zee5 has earlier worked together with JAR Pictures for the film “Bamfaad” and shows like, both seasons of “Rangbaaz” and “The Final Call”.
Looks like this time the lead cast will include Richa Chadha (Masaan, Gangs of Wasseypur, Inside Edge) and Karishma Tanna (Sanju, Grand Masti). There is no information as of yet, if any of the previous cast members (Mouni Roy, Purab Kohli) will return or reprise their roles in this new Zee5 original film.
While “London Confidential” fell short in giving that thrill, the makers will have to make “Lahore Confidential” more intriguing and add a lot more suspense spice to qualify it as a nail-biting edge of the seat thriller.
