It’s bad news for fans of Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Reacher’ series starring Alan Ritchson that the second season has just concluded with an action-packed finale. So, no more new episodes every Friday. But the good news is that a third season has already been renewed and filming for ‘Reacher Season-3’ is underway.
So, you must have two important questions now. First: On which Jack Reacher book could the third season be based? And second: When will ‘Reacher Season-3’ be out on Prime Video? We’ll try our best to answer that.
From what we have read so far from various interviews by Alan Ritchson and other stakeholders behind the ‘Reacher’ series, it looks like the next season of ‘Reacher’ is going to be a solo story of Jack Reacher without delving more into the character’s past, unlike the first two seasons which were based on Lee Child’s first and eleventh Jack Reacher books ‘Killing Floor’ and ‘Bad Luck and Trouble’, respectively.
There have been 28 Jack Reacher novels so far and since the two books ‘One Shot’ and ‘Never Go Back’ have already been adapted for the two films starring Tom Cruise, most likely they won’t be considered again so soon. We think that the next ‘Reacher’ season could be based on either of these three books by Lee Child.
The first one is the fast-paced page-turner ‘Worth Dying For’ in which Jack Reacher, a former military investigator, arrives in a rural Nebraska town one night and gets involved in a mysterious old case of a missing eight-year-old girl. But to solve the case, he must overpower a dangerous clan – the Duncans, who want Reacher gone.
Second potential contender for ‘Reacher S3’ is ‘Gone Tomorrow’, which starts off with Jack Reacher riding a subway car in New York City and spotting a suicide bomber, who has been him all giveaway signs.
And the third possible Jack Reacher book which could be adapted for ‘Reacher Season 3’ is the second book ‘Die Trying’ where Jack Reacher gets accidentally kidnapped in Chicago along with a very important woman – an FBI agent. Now, he must save himself and the woman from the clutches of the kidnappers.
