Stunt coordinator turned director Sam Hargrave became a household name across the globe after the high-octane film ‘Extraction’ and its sequel ‘Extraction 2’ starring ‘Thor’ actor Chris Hemsworth in the lead role. Both these action-packed films are streaming on the Netflix OTT platform.
And it looks like Sam Hargrave is in no mood to stop. He seems to have found another project which will be very high on action considering the source material. As per the latest update, the ‘Extraction’ helmer is set to direct a feature film adaptation of the graphic novel titled ‘Kill Them All’. The novel’s title might be enough to give you an idea about its plot (although there’s not much in terms of a story in these kinds of action films).
The above-mentioned graphic novel ‘Kill Them All’ follows a highly skilled female, assassin who learns that she is going to be eliminated by the criminal organization she works for. So, she teams up with an alcoholic former cop to kill them all first, before they get to her. The determined duo must get through the fifteen flights of a plaza which houses extremely dangerous and powerful criminals.
The premise of ‘Kill Them All’ sounds rather similar to some films like Karl Urban’s underrated actioner ‘Dredd’ and the widely acclaimed Indonesian movie ‘The Raid’. And even Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Kill Bill’. But in such action films, it’s not the story but the action choreography and execution which matters a lot. And Sam Hargrave is among the best suited modern filmmakers to direct a film like this.
As of now, the two lead roles of the assassin and the cop have not been assigned to any actor. But we think that an actress like Michelle Yeoh, Scarlette Johnson, Emilia Clarke, Zoe Saldana, or even Mila Jovovich should be apt for the part. And the hardened cop can be played by Chris / Liam Hemsworth, Jake Gyllenhaal, or perhaps Ryan Reynolds. The options are many, but it would depend on the age bracket of the characters along with the scale in which the project will be made.
