Fabulous Lives Of Bollywood Wives was one of the most dreaded, trolled and cringe content that Netflix India ever streamed. It was the story of four women who are wives of some prominent members of Bollywood.
The show focused on Neelam Kothari, Maheep Kapoor, Bhavna Pandey and Seema Khan.
Neelam Kothari, if you remember, did small roles in a very few films of the late 80s and 90s. She played the only sister of the three brothers in Hum Saath Saath Hain. Apart from a few insignificant roles, she barely has any important role in a successful film. She married Samir Soni who also played a few small roles in a few films.
Maheep Kapoor is a jewellery designer but she’s better known as the wife of Sanjay Kapoor. Sanjay Kapoor had a few films in the 90s that was pulled off by heroines and item numbers. For example, Raja was noticed by the audience due to the huge stardom of Madhuri Dixit. And Sirf Tum by the steamy song Dilbar Dilbar in which Sushmita Sen performed.
Bhavna Pandey is considered a costume designer and she is the wife of actor Chunky Pandey. Chunky is a very prominent name when it comes to comedy films and he had a fan base in the 90s.
Seema Khan is also a fashion designer and the wife of actor/director Sohail Khan.
The show is focused on how these four women live an extravagant life. The overall concept of the show is extremely negative. Why does a woman have to be the wife of a rich and prominent man to have exotic vacations, lavish lifestyles and unnecessarily expensive products? Instead of promoting the dependency of women on their husbands, why can’t we have a show that promotes the financial independence of women?
This show is completely against the modern society that we need to create where women are capable of living a lifestyle that they want and deserve. This show was hated by almost every person who wasted their time watching. But, Fabulous Lives Of Bollywood Wives is coming again on Netflix. The shooting has restarted and thanks to Karan Johar for this.
