Fahadh Faasil Gets Kamal Haasan’s Seal Of Approval For ‘Malik’!

The highly anticipated Malayalam gangster flick, ‘Malik‘ released a few days ago on Amazon Prime Video and the film has been getting good reviews from critics and Amazon subscribers so far. The actor has been praised for his superb performance, while the music, editing and direction have also received recognition. The director of the movie, Mahesh Narayanan had full confidence in the film’s cast, especially Fahadh – which improved even more with Kamal Hassan’s Seal of Approval.

If you have watched this movie, many of you would have noticed the parallels between ‘Malik’ and other legendary gangster flicks like ‘Godfather’ and ‘Nayakan’ (which has Kamal Haasan portraying the lead character). One day, when Mahesh got a chance to meet Kamal Haasan, he talked to him about the film he was going to make (‘Malik’) and how it was going to take elements from the aforementioned gangster films. Kamal Haasan asked him who was going to play the lead, to which Mahesh replied Fahadh. Kamal replied with “Good choice”.

And it was a good choice. Mahesh’s initial choice and Kamal’s intuition has been rewarded with overwhelming support and it has been gratifying to watch in some ways. Of course, there are small plot issues, one major questionable editing decision and runtime concerns, but the movie manages to keep good pace throughout.

And now, Fahadh Faasil and Kamal Haasan is expected team up in a Lokesh Kanagaraj action spy thriller ‘Vikram’. This film is neither a reboot nor a sequel to the 1986 Kamal Haasan starrer of the same name, but since the film is planning to keep its original OST (while remixing it for the current generation), we except this film to at least be set in the same world as the same the older feature film.
