Fan Favourite Character To Stay Dead As Season 2 Of Mirzapur Looms Closer!!

Amazon Prime Video’s crime-cult phenomenon ‘Mirzapur’ is dropping the trailer for it’s second season tomorrow, on 6th October before the season is released at the end of the month. With the date looming closer and closer, fans have been paying respects to one of their favorites, Sweety Gupta AKA Shriya Pilagaonkar before the second season’s release.

Shriya Pilagaonkar’s character Sweety Gupta was shot twice in the gut in the season finale of ‘Mirzapur’s’ first season. It may look ambiguous and many on-screen characters have come back from much worse, but it looks like there will not be a “second life” for Sweety. The actress is not included in the billing for the second season and hence will not be making an appearance in this upcoming season.

She was one of the more beloved characters in the whole series known for her witty comebacks and non-nonsense attitude. The actress who portrayed her has been receiving lots of messages from ‘Mirzapur’ fans ahead of season 2. Shriya Pilagaonkar has been bombarded with “Miss You!” messages and the love she has been receiving has been overwhelming on her social media platforms.

The actress however, has taken it in stride and expressed her gratitude to her fans. She has also pinned up a letter on her Instagram handle along with multiple pictures of her character from the show. In the letter she thanks her fans, the showrunners and especially the writers Puneet Krishna and Vineet Krishna for giving her a strong character to portray. The entire letter is provided below.

The second season of ‘Mirzapur’ is set to release on Amazon Prime Video on October 23rd 2020.

I just have to say this. There is no bigger reward for an actor than to be known & loved for the characters they portray on screen. Sweety Gupta has given me more than I could have ever imagined. I’m overwhelmed by how many ‘miss you‘ messages I’ve received ever since Mirzapur S2 was announced. Your suggestions of resurrecting Sweety are incredibly creative & amusing but I take it all as a sign of your love. I loved playing Swarangini , a girl who not only stood up for herself but for those around her and was always unafraid to speak her mind. The credit goes to our brilliant writers Puneet Krishna & Vineet Krishna. This character and the show means a lot to me and I’m grateful for all that has come my way after the show released. While there is no scope of a poonarjanma as some of you have suggested , I just want to say THANK YOU for all your love and messages . और बहुत कहानियाँ बाकी हैं… मिलते रहेंगे …🌷 . . @excelmovies @yehhaimirzapur @primevideoin @faroutakhtar @ritesh_sid @gurmmeetsingh @mihirbd @rupalivaidya @krnx
