“Khalbali Records”, recorded everything but couldn’t keep up with its unpredictability. The starting of this web series is quite good when a rap singer gets murdered and the studio changes its name from Galaxy Records to Khalbali Records.
This series delves into the pure political and musical battle, where music plays a pivotal role as we already know.
The predictability of the show lies when we see the poster of the series, a CD broken in four parts, this only discloses that there will be a family feud.
Ram Kapoor and Saloni Batra, did their best job, and nailed their parts and gained huge appreciation.
Now if we come back to the essence of this series’ music, the first few songs were quite good to vibe with ,and here I am talking about the Hindi ones. But, because it is a collaboration of different artists, which makes it a blend of some very unfathomable rhythmic style as well as lyrics.
This series wanted to spread its wings to pan India so, it was dubbed in Tamil and other languages as well, just like a perfume would evaporate while transferring to another bottle here also while dubbing into different languages the main essence of the songs even the integrity of the dialogues felt quite loose.
The family feud and then rap culture taking the central stage was poorly woven tapestry .
But apart from that, friendship , and politics went side by side showing a vast support to the rap culture.
The songs in Hindi are really good to vibe with and the storyline was predictable yet filled with action.
Although the story has loose ends, audiences were very enthusiastic about this series.
All in all, up until now “Khalbali Records” didn’t get any negative reviews from the fans so it’s fair to say that fans are enjoying their regional musical drama.
This series has the potential to be one of Jio Cinema’s greatest originals.
This eight episode long series has everything in it music, politics, drama, friendship and family. But when music or better to say rap culture takes up the central stage, it becomes totally about music, some music is great but the dubs are very poor, the unpredictability of the series doesn’t really make the viewers stay for a bit long. Now it’s upon time, what will be the fate of “Khalbali Records”.
