Lausanne Diamond League. The night was big, and on nights like this, Neeraj Chopra rekindles his best throw yet. But you know who puts out its own fire and runs towards doomsday? It’s JioCinema, for sure. And just when JioCinema could have taken things slow, right before the official merger, they escalated their streak of messing up.
Nothing new for the platform, as it delivers yet another bad streaming experience for a sports event, leaving fans frustrated.
What happened this time?
India’s golden boy Neeraj Chopra was participating in the Lausanne Diamond League, and JioCinema was streaming it. Indians expected separate coverage of the event, similar to what was provided during the Olympics. But what they got was utter disappointment.
Not only did JioCinema fail to offer any separate streaming for the entire javelin event, but they also caused fans to miss some key moments of the match. Big bummer, right?
If you’ve been a long-time user of JioCinema, this is probably normal for you by now. But JioCinema desperately needs a revamp and a team that can execute things properly.
India is going through a sports awakening; a few years ago, cricket was the only religion, and now that focus has shifted to other sports too. If OTT platforms keep messing this up, India will definitely have no future in sports—none.
