It feels like Terminator is following the Marvel rules every time a terminator has to go it creates a different timeline.
But, “Terminator Zero” stayed true to its story line and it is based in one single year which is 2024.
In this mini series we follow Eiko, a young female freedom fighter from the future who travels back in time to 1997, where she must confront a genius scientist named Malcolm Lee. Lee has created an advanced AI he calls Kokoro to help defend humanity against Skynet’s extermination agenda, and as well are all aware that Skynet is no good for us.
Although this series doesn’t follow up with the Terminator holy trinity, this stands as a breath of fresh air for Terminator fandom as well as anime lovers.
This series for once broke the very rule of shoot and serve in Terminator for 8 long episodes it keeps its dignity, and thrills revealing the final secret.
If we compare the style and technique with “Ghost In The Shell”, then maybe we will be wrong because it has numerous gory scenes which are very visual , ample nudity and very paradoxical science talk which will eventually make the audience feel that they are watching something really smart.
On IMDb it got 7.2 out of 10, and it is 100% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
People are saying , “I enjoyed this anime quite well. As a pure fan of the Terminator franchise, I can only appreciate when the approach to this universe is serious, deep and meaningful. Despite the good product I couldn’t really like the 1no thing part, and I felt that the conversations with Kokoro were interesting but extremely long. Most of the plot gets in that direction by putting on side the Terminator and the Skynet. In my honest opinion it would have been nicer to give more balance to this element. The ending is quite twisted, maybe a little bit too much. Exceptional soundtrack and sound effects. English dub is Ok, could be done better, lack of emphasis in some parts.”
While the other person said, “Great series on Netflix. A perfect 10/10 I really enjoyed the storyline. My only knock on it is that it’s only 8 episodes. I’m looking forward to season 2. This is how a franchise should be portrayed. They have finally done this franchise justice…compared to the trash we have been subjected to in recent memory. I doubt anyone who is a fan of the terminator franchise and its lore will have any issues with this anime series.”
