It is definitely the biggest test for Prime Video, but Prime Video misses the pan-Indian point of entertainment. This has made the fans, especially the non-Hindi speaking ones, really upset.
Language plays a major role in entertainment, especially for comedy. Sometimes it captures the whole essence, and other times it adds an element to it. Language is definitely essential when it comes to enjoyment, and sometimes it becomes a barrier.
Take Prime Video’s latest successful venture, “Panchayat Season 3,” as an example.
Fans were excited about the release of the show, but they are upset about its treatment. This time, language comes out as a big problem for the show. For the first couple of seasons, though it had subtitles in various Indian and international languages, it was only available in Hindi audio.
But the third season is at the center of the problems. It not only has one audio, but it also has only one subtitle option, and that too is in English. The first season also misses some critical audio options, such as Bangla. Though Bangla speakers can fairly understand Hindi, the problem is created for the audience of Southern India.
For the first and second seasons of “Panchayat,” there are no Malayalam and Kannada options, two of the four main languages of the southern part of India.
This does create a problem. Though sometimes dubbing takes away the essence or translating subtitles takes away the fun of the show, it is necessary for fans to enjoy it. It makes the show more accessible.

intlo vallaki show veyyali
It has become an habit for you to ignore regional languages in second seasons. Releasing the first season in regional languages but not in the second seasons. Then Panchayat now #BreatheIntoTheShadows. If you ignore regional languages, we will ignore you too.
