In a hot and buzzing piece of news, it has emerged that handsome Pakistani actor Fawad Khan has joined the cast of Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney Plus series, Ms Marvel. We first heard the news a couple of days ago, but dismissed it as just a rumour. But we’re now certain that Fawad Khan’s entry into the MCU is not a rumour. The The actor’s name has been added to the IMDb page of Ms Marvel, thereby confirming that he is definitely a part of the series.
We even visited Fawad Khan’s Wikipedia page to do a bit of digging. And voila! His filmography on his Wiki page has been updated with the Ms Marvel entry. Apparently, Fawad Khan will play a character called Hasan in the show. Indian viewers will know him from his lead roles in Bollywood films Khubsoorat and Kapoor And Sons, and cameo in Aae Duo Hai Mushkil. He has also acted in the Pakistani TV shows, Humsafar and Zindagi Gulzaar Hai – both very popular in India.
Other Pakistani actors that are confirmed to be a part of Ms Marvel are veteran Pakistani actress Samina Ahmad and Nimra Bucha, who played the role of Batool in ZEE5 drama, Churails. The main protagonist, Kamala Khan, aka Ms Marvel, is herself an American of Pakistani origin. Saagar Shaikh is another American – Pakistani actor playing a pivotal role in the series.
There are a host of Indian connections to the Ms Marvel series too. Indian actor Mohan Kapur is playing Kamala Khan’s father in the series. British-Indian actor Rish Shah has a crucial role too. The major scoop – Farhan Akhtar being a part of Ms Marvel – remains to be confirmed. Is there a possibility that Farhan Akhtar is not doing Ms Marvel, and Fawad Khan has taken his place in the show? We’ll know the exact facts in some time.
The show is being created by Bisha K. Ali who also serves as the head writer. Adil El Arbi, Bilall Fallah, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Meera Menon have directed episodes for the series. Kamala Khan co-creator Sana Amanat serves as the executive producer for the series.
