The first look of Michael Mann’s upcoming biopic, Ferrari, is out now. It features Adam Driver as the Italian car racing tycoon.
The Academy Award-nominated actor will play Enzo Ferrari in the film. The film’s plot will explore the life of ‘l’Ingegnere’ in 1957 and the troubles he faced in his family as well as in his career. During this time, his company faced bankruptcy which he co-founded with his wife, Laura (Penelope Cruz). To save his company, he rolls the dice on one race event – the iconic Mille Miglia. Additionally, the film explores the dangers of motor car racing in the 1950s.
Driver dons a black suit and tie over a white shirt and wears a pair of black sunglasses and looks completely unrecognisable in the film’s first look.
The film’s plot takes its inspiration from Brock Yates’ book ‘Enzo Ferrari – The Man and the Machine’ with Michael Mann serving as the writer and director. He has also co-produced the movie with John Lesher, Thorsten Schumacher, Lars Sylvest, and Gareth West.
The supporting cast consists of Penelope Cruz as Laura Ferrari, Shailene Woodley as Lina Lardi, Gabriel Leone as Alfonso de Portago, Sarah Gadon as Linda Christian, Jack O’Connell as Peter Collins, and Patrick Dempsey as Piero Taruffi.
In addition to Ferrari, Driver is busy filming 65, a forthcoming sci-fi project with Scott Beck and Bryan Woods at the helm. It is scheduled to release in March 2023. On the other hand, Mann has confirmed that he has started working on the sequel of ‘Heat’.
Adam Driver’s Ferrari is expected to release in late 2023. Stay tuned for more updates.
