NEON has dropped the official trailer of Michael Mann’s Ferrari, starring Adam Driver and Penelope Cruz. Both actors look in fine form in the latest trailer. Their respective performances in the film may establish them as serious contenders for this year’s awards race.
‘Ferrari’ competed for the iconic Golden Lion prize at this year’s Venice International Film Festival, where it met with highly positive critical response. However, its complex narrative structure faced some criticism. It currently has a ‘fresh’ 72% score on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 36 reviews.
In the latest trailer, we see Adam Driver’s Enzo Ferrari giving everything he has to save his company. His glory days as a racing driver have passed. Bankruptcy threatens his company and adversely affects his relationship with his wife, Laura Ferrari (played by Cruz). This forces Enzo to put all his efforts and money into the dangerous Mille Miglia, a 1,000-mile race across Italy. In addition, he struggles to deal with the loss of his son, Dino.
Helmed by Michael Mann, Ferrari has other talents like Shailene Woodley, Gabriel Leone, Sarah Gadon, Jack O’Connell, and Patrick Dempsey. Troy Kennedy Martin serves as the film’s writer. The movie is inspired by Brock Yates’ novel, Enzo Ferrari: The Man and the Machine.
Ferrari, starring Adam Driver, will release worldwide on December 25. Stay tuned for more updates.
