This year in Bollywood, began with the big release of Fighter on Republic Day. Siddharth Anand set the box office on fire with the release of Pathan. But what happened this year?
“Fighter” hit theaters on January 25, 2024. It is also directed by Siddharth Anand, and stars big names like Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor. Also, this movie happens to be just the beginning of an exciting series all about aerial action. But do you really think it would work? A tricky question indeed.
The story revolves around Shamsher “Patty” Pathania (played by Hrithik Roshan), Minal “Minni” Rathore (played by Deepika Padukone), and Group Captain Rakesh “Rocky” Jaisingh (played by Anil Kapoor). They’re all part of India’s elite fighter pilots who are posted in the sensitive region of Kashmir. The film draws some instances from the Pulwama terrorist attack and the following air strike to bring a masala story.
Even though “Fighter” was supposed to come out in January 2023, it got delayed and released in January 2024 instead.
It earned over ₹337.2 crore worldwide. For a film of this magnitude, it deserved much more money. But, Siddharth Anand needs to learn to write better scripts than what he usually does. Fans have elevated from merely masala and they want a solid story too.
Let’s talk about the OTT release date of Fighter. The digital streaming rights of the film are with Netflix India.
