This weekend on streaming promises to be one of the most stacked ever! Upto 13 Indian films in diverse languages will premiere on OTT – on Netflix, Prime Video, Disney Plus Hotstar, ZEE5, Aha Video, Hoichoi TV, among others.
From action thrillers to historical dramas to romance to sci-fi to period films, there are tons of movies releasing on OTT to cater to every taste and demography.
Here’s the full list of Indian movies releasing on OTT this weekend –
1. Bhakshak – Hindi film, 9th February, Netflix
Direct to digital release, Bhakshak centres on heinous crimes committed against girls and women in a shelter for women. Bhumi Pednekar plays a journalist who pursues the truth relentlessly, despite grave danger to her life from the powerful people at the center of the crime. Also starring Sanjay Mishra, Aditya Srivastava, Sai Tamhankar, Durgesh Kumar, among others, in pivotal roles. Directed by Pulkit.
2. Guntur Kaaram – Telugu film, 9th February, Netflix
Telugu action drama film Guntur Kaaram is written and directed by Trivikram Srinivas. It stars Mahesh Babu, Sreeleela, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Ramya Krishna, Jayaram, Prakash Raj and Jagapathi Babu.
3. Jorugaa Husharugaa – Telugu film, Streaming Now, Prime Video
Directed by Anu Prasad, Jorugaa Husharugaa is a Telugu romantic movie that follows a couple whose relationship is affected when both start working in the same company. To make matters worse, their boss develops feelings for the girl. Stars Viraj Ashwin, Pujita Ponnada, Sonu Thakur and Siri Hanumanth
4. Captain Miller – Tamil film, 9th February, Prime Video
Period drama Captain Miller follows a brave former British Army soldier who fights to safeguard his village from the marauding British army. Starring Dhanush, Shiva Rajkumar, Sundeep Kishan, Priyanka Arul Mohan, and John Kokken. Written and directed by Arun Matheswaran.
5. Khichdi 2: Mission Paanthukistan – Hindi film, 9th February, ZEE5
The beloved Parekh family is back, and this time they embark on a secret mission in Paanthukistan to rescue a missing person from his kidnappers. Starring Anang Desai, Vandana Pathak, Supriya Pathak, Rajeev Mehta, JD Majethia, Farah Khan in a cameo, Kirti Kulhari, Pratik Gandhi, Deven Bhojani, Anant Vidhaat, Kiku Sharda, Flora Saini. Khichdi 2 is written and directed by Aatish Kapadia.
6. Lantrani – Hindi film, 9th February, ZEE5
An anthology of three short films, Lantrani means people who boast a lot. Starring Johnny Lever, Jitendra Kumar, Jisshu Sengupta, Nimisha Sanjayan and Bolaram Das. Directed by National Award winning directors, Gurvinder Singh, Kaushik Ganguly and Bhaskar Hazarika.
7. Palasher Biye – Bengali film, 9th February, ZEE5
Direct to digital release Palasher Biye is directed by Premendra Bikash Chaki. The film follows a couple in love, but whose relationship is threatened by the fact that they have very different values. Stars Somraj Maity & Mimi Chakraborty.
8. Bubblegum – Telugu film, 9th February, Aha Video
The story of Bubblegum follows star-crossed lovers Aadhi and Janhvi, who hail from diverse social and financial backgrounds. When their love is tested by an unforeseen event, it rocks the very core of their relationship, leaving them at a devastating crossroad. Stars Roshan Kanakala and Maanasa Choudhary, directed by Ravikanth Perepu.
9. Kaatera – Kannada film, 9th February, ZEE5
Kannada action drama film Kaatera follows a blacksmith in Bheemanahalli, who fights to help the farmers of his village implement Land Reforms Act, and escape the clutches of evil landlords Devaraya and Kaalegowda. Stars Darshan, Aradhana Ram, Jagapathi Babu, Kumar Govind, Vinod Kumar Alwa, Danish Akhtar Saifi and Shruti. Directed by Tharun Sudhir.
10. Ayalaan – Tamil film, 9th February, Sun NXT
Tamil film ‘Ayalaan’ is centred on an alien who lands on Earth by mistake, and wants to go back home. He finds a friend in Sivakarthikeyan’s character, who helps to get him back home but unfortunately a bunch of evil scientists want to capture the alien. Starring Sivakarthikeyan, Rakul Preet Singh, Karunakaran, Yogi Babu, Sharad Kelkar, Isha Koppikar, Banupriya, Balasaravanan. Written and directed by R Ravikumar.
11. Ippadikku Kadhal – Tamil film, 9th February, Aha Tamil
Tamil film Ippadikku Kadhal is directed by Bharat Mohan, and stars Bharath, Janani, Sonakshi Singh, Bucks, Pandiyarajan.
12. Mitthye Premer Gaan – Bengali film, 10th February, Hoichoi TV
Mitthye Premer Gaan is a Bengali musical romantic drama, directed by Paroma Neotia. The film follows a young struggling musician and a woman who helps him achieve his true potential in music. Starring Anirban Bhattacharya, Ishaa Saha and Arjun Chakrabarty.
13. Abraham Olzer – TBA, Malayalam film, Disney Plus Hotstar
The story of Abraham Olzer revolves around Abraham Olzer, the ACP of Trichur, who goes on the hunt for a serial killer behind a slew of murders. Starring Jayaram, Anaswara Rajan, Senthil Krishna, Rajamani, Arya, Salim, Mammootty, Arjun Ashokan, Dileesh Pothan, Jagadish, Anoop Menon, Saikumar. Directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas.
