After the recent filming wrap for Ayan Mukerji’s highly anticipated fantasy actioner ‘Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva’, the immensely talented Indian actor Ranbir Kapoor is all set for Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s gangster drama ‘Animal’, which has commenced its filming schedule from today. In fact, the ‘Sanju’ actor has already reached the scenic Himalayan town of Manali along with his co-star Rashmika Mandanna.
Besides Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna, ‘Animal’ also features veteran actor Anil Kapoor alongside Bobby Deol in important roles.
This is the first time the newly married cine-star Ranbir Kapoor is collaborating with filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who is known for directing the two blockbuster movies ‘Arjun Reddy’ and its Hindi language remake ‘Kabir Singh’.
Moreover, this is also the first time Ranbir Kapoor will be sharing screen space with Rashmika Mandanna, who had impressed the audience in Allu Arjun starrer ‘Pushpa: The Rise’. She was roped in for the film after Parineeti Chopra had opted out of ‘Animal’ for starring in Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming project ‘Chamkila’.
The precise plot details of ‘Animal’ are being kept under the wraps. The film is being touted as a crime drama that would ostensibly showcase the strained relationship of Ranbir Kapoor’s intense and dark character with his father. ‘Animal’ is currently slated for a theatrical release next year on 11th August 2023.
Besides ‘Animal’, Ranbir Kapoor’s forthcoming acting projects include Ayan Mukerji’s big ticket film ‘Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva’ (9th Sept 2022) co-starring Amitabh Bachchan and his wife Alia Bhatt, and before that, ‘Shamshera’ (22nd July 2022). There is also a yet-untitled film being directed by Luv Ranjan co-starring Shraddha Kapoor which is expected to release in the first half of 2023.
