Amazon Prime Video has announced the shoot commencement of its upcoming new series ‘Matka King’ starring Vijay Varma (‘Jaane Jaan’, ‘Dahaad’, ‘Darlings’) in the lead. Helmed by Nagraj Manjule, ‘Matka King’ will premiere soon only on Amazon Prime Video.
The first look launched today features Vijay Varma inside the frame of joker card. Wearing a white shirt and sporting a moustache, Vijay Varma gives those retro vibes.
‘Matka King’ follows an enterprising cotton trader in Mumbai who starts a new gambling game called Matka, taking the city by storm and democratising a terrain previously reserved for the rich and elite.
‘Matka King’ is created and directed by ‘Sairat’ and ‘Jhund’ fame Nagraj Manjule who has co-written the series with Abhay Koranne. In addition to Vijay Varma, the show also stars Sai Tamhankar, Kritika Kamra, Gulshan Grover, and Siddharth Jadhav among others.
Siddharth Roy Kapur, Nagraj Manjule Ashwini Sidwani and Ashish Aryan serve as producers for the show. A Roy Kapur Films, Aatpat and SMR Productions series, ‘Matka King’ will launch soon exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
