It’s finally here! Announced back in 2018, Sachin Kundalkar’s ‘Cobalt Blue’ is finally getting its due on Netflix. Based on the best selling 2006 eponymous novel, ‘Cobalt Blue’ is all set to premiere on Netflix tomorrow on 2nd April, 2022.
Scheduled to release last December, ‘Cobalt Blue’ was indefinitely postponed by Netflix with no specific reason being cited. ‘Cobalt Blue’ is premised on a unique yet beautiful narrative and follows the story of a brother and sister who fall in love with the same man, and how a traditional Marathi family is shattered by the ensuing events.
Written and directed by Sachin Kundalkar and set in the early 90s Kerala, ‘Cobalt Blue’ brings out the pain and the beauty of forbidden love. The film stars Prateik Babbar, Neelay Mehendale and Anjali Sivaraman in lead roles.
The mystery behind Netflix postponing the film earlier and now dropping it on the platform all of a sudden remains unsolved. Could it be due to the film’s LGBTQ theme or could it be the elections influencing it? Whatever it maybe, the viewers are at least ready to get a glimpse of the much awaited ‘Cobalt Blue’.
