Finally, Netflix brings updates for it’s much anticipated shows from the Resident Evil franchise. We earlier in our report addressed that Netflix even after announcing not one, but two Resident Evil shows, hasn’t come up with any updates. Even after almost a year of the announcements, there was absolutely zero news about it from the makers and the streaming service. But finally, Netflix recently revealed what the further plans for the show are.
Looks like Netflix will be bringing out the anime before the live action series. Named “Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness” the show will follow the incident of the same Resident Evil universe, which will be set a few years after the incidents of “Resident Evil 4”. The anime will be bringing back fan favourite characters Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield and will be exploring more of their stories. They will be voiced by voice actors Nick Apostolides and Stephanie Panisello.
Rather than exploring a more newer story or even a different storyline, makers have decided to keep it in track with the other stories from the franchise and this is the reason the stories will bring back the familiar plot of Resident Evil 4, more basically the aftermath of the incidents. This time Leon and Claire are back at work, they realise they will be working to protect the people once again from another zombie outbreak. With zombies attacking the White House and also simultaneous zombie breakout outside makes these officials take major steps and get ready to save the people once again.
With mystery and zombies put together once again, this will be a treat for the fans of the franchise. Also a smart movie of keeping the stories connected will lead fans to watch the other parts in the franchise. While the streaming service hasn’t revealed any release dates, makers are hoping for a late 2021 release, though nothing can be confirmed as of now because the pandemic has delayed major works that were supposed to go in at the early stage of production.
This is not the only series Netflix will be bringing out from the franchise. Though it has revealed major updates on the anime series, there have been no updates whatsoever for the live-action series that follows the lives of the Wesker siblings.
