More than four years later Prime Video’s hit musical romantic drama ‘Bandish Bandits’ is returning with a second season and it has finally got a premiere date.
Created by Anand Tiwari and Amritpal Singh Bindra, ‘Bandish Bandits’ came out in 2020 and was so successful that the makers had decided to renew it for second season in just a month after its release.
The launch announcement of Season 2 of ‘Bandish Bandits’ came with a new poster that’s set on stage lit with a spotlight focusing on the lead couple of the show, Shreya Chaudhry and Ritwik Bhowmik. They also take up a major portion of the poster as their figures appear more than once in the poster that also feature other characters from the show.
At the end of Season 1, Radhe (Ritwik Bhowmik) was crowned the Sangeet Samrat and Tamanna (Shreya Chaudhry) embarked upon her own journey of honing her skills as an artist. With Season 2, the show is expected to go ahead with an emotionally charged continuation of Radhe and Tamanna’s story.
As per the official description, “the new season of ‘Bandish Bandits’ continues its journey, artfully blending the intricate ragas, talas, and bandishes of Indian classical music with the bold, electrifying beats of modern rock and pop. The lead characters—Radhe and Tamanna now face off against each other in the quest for acceptance and glory. The narrative delves deeper into family legacy and brings in themes of individuality, empowerment, and the balance between old and new to the forefront, as each character discovers and embraces their true self.”
Ritwik Bhowmik, Shreya Chaudhry, Sheeba Chaddha, Atul Kulkarni, Rajesh Tailang, and Kunaal Roy Kapur will return to reprise their roles in ‘Bandish Bandits’ season 2. The new members joining the cast are Divya Dutta, Rohan Gurbaxani, Yashaswini Dayama, Aaliyah Qureshi, and Saurabh Nayyar in pivotal roles.
Directed by Anand Tiwari, ‘Bandish Bandits’ season 2 is produced by Amritpal Singh Bindra. A Leo Media Collective Private Limited production, ‘Bandish Bandits’ season 2 will premiere on Prime Video on 13th December, 2024, that’s exactly a month from today.
