‘Fireflies: Parth Aur Jugnu’: Trailer, Release Date, Streaming Platform, Cast, Plot

Zee5 has dropped the trailer for its upcoming original web series ‘Fireflies: Parth Aur Jugnu’, a fantasy drama revolving around a mythological tree. Helmed by Hemant Gaba, ‘Fireflies: Parth Aur Jugnu’ will start streaming only on Zee5 from 5th May, 2023.

‘Fireflies: Parth Aur Jugnu’ trailer begins with the folklore about a mysterious tree that grows every 40-50 years in a village and so comes in the forest devil to acquire it.

From there the trailer takes us to Parth’s school where his teacher tells him that he has failed in 9th standard and will have to repeat the year. Suddenly weird things start happening in the area like a terminally ill patient suddenly starts showing improvement.

While all of it seems like a coincidence, there’s something much more to it. Meanwhile Parth comes across a mysterious boy Jugnu in the forest who shows him the magical Sanjeevni tree and that’s when he realises it’s not just stories.

There’s one other man who wants to have the Sanjeevni tree to make him immortal and is willing to go to any extent for the same. To save the tree from this evil person, Parth and Jugnu come together and what follows forms the crux of the story.

‘Fireflies: Parth Aur Jugnu’ follows Parth who forms an unlikely friendship with Jugnu, a magical boy who lives in the haunted forest of Bheem Mukteshwar. Soon the friends find themselves on a mission to protect a magical tree in the forest. Will they succeed?

Directed by Hemant Gaba, ‘Fireflies: Parth Aur Jugnu’ stars Aekam Binjwe, Meet Mukhi, Madhoo Shah, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Zoya Afroz and Varun Kapoor among others.

Ron Marz serves as the script consultant with Devdutt Pattnaik as the mythology consultant for ‘Fireflies: Parth Aur Jugnu’ that is produced by Amrit Walia and showrun by Animesh Verma. Produced by Cinnamon Media & Artworks, ‘Fireflies: Parth Aur Jugnu’ will premiere only on Zee5 on 5th May, 2023.
