SonyLiv is all set to launch the American legal drama, For Life on its platform as part of its attempt to compete with OTT giants, Netflix and Amazon Prime who have scores of new TV shows and movies each week.
SonyLiv , the OTT platform which is owned by Sony Pictures is re branding its website and updating it’s content by releasing a host of original TV shows and exclusives on its OTT service such as Your Honour, Kadakh, Avrodh -The Siege Within among others.
An interesting show in this list is “For Life”, created by Hank Steinberg first aired in February 2020 on ABC Network. It is inspired by and loosely based on the true story of Isaac Wright Jr., who was put behind bars for a crime he did not commit.
The 13 episode show follows Aaron Wallace who is wrongfully convicted for drug trafficking and sentenced to a life sentence in prison. While imprisoned, he becomes an attorney and fights for others while struggling to get his sentence reversed.
A show that deals with the shortcomings of the judicial system and one man’s fight to change his fate has garnered critical reviews and praise for it’s story and phenomenal performances by the cast as well.
Its stars Nicholas Pinnock of Marcella fame as Aaron Wallace and also includes Indira Varma who worked in Game of Thrones, Joy Brant, Mary Stuart Masterson and Dorian Missick among others.
The drama has been revived for a second season as well.
