Prime Video’s new series ‘Swarm‘ has been winning accolades all around. Critics and audiences alike are going gaga over the dark horror series of celebrity fandom gone wrong. Dominique Fishback’s performance in the series has come in for widespread praise from all quarters. ‘Swarm’ began streaming worldwide, including in India, from 17th March, 2023.
A lesser known fact about the ‘Swarm’ series is that former US president Barack Obama’s elder daughter Malia Obama has made her TV writing debut with the Prime Video show. Malia Obama is credited under the name Malia Ann in the writing credits. Though Malia Obama has written stuff before, ‘Swarm’ is her official TV writing debut. She’s part of the writing team for ‘Swarm’.
Malia Obama has co-written Episode 5, titled “Girl, Bye”, on ‘Swarm’. The episode is described as one of the wildest episodes of the show by various sources, especially Janine Nabers, co-creator of ‘Swarm’.
‘Swarm’ follows Dre (Dominique Fishback), a young woman whose obsession with a pop star takes a dark turn, propelling her into increasingly violent deeds. Chloe Bailey, Billie Eilish, Paris Jackson and Damson Idris form the rest of the cast. The pop star is modeled along the lines of Beyoncé.
‘Swarm’ is currently streaming on Prime Video worldwide.
