Apple TV+ has unveiled the trailer for second season of ‘Foundation’, the hit, epic saga from storyteller David S. Goyer and based on Isaac Asimov’s award-winning stories. ‘Foundation’ season two will launch only on Apple TV+ with the first episode premiering on 14th July, 2023 followed by new episodes weekly every Friday through 15th September, 2023.
‘Foundation’ season 2 is set more than a century after the season one finale and tension is on the rise in this new season. As the Cleons unravel, a vengeful queen plots to destroy Empire from within. Hari, Gaal and Salvor discover a colony of Mentalics with psionic abilities that threaten to alter psychohistory itself. The Foundation has entered its religious phase, promulgating the Church of Seldon throughout the Outer Reach and inciting the Second Crisis: war with Empire.
This adaptation of ‘Foundation’ chronicles the stories of four crucial individuals transcending space and time as they overcome deadly crises, shifting loyalties and complicated relationships that will ultimately determine the fate of humanity.
Produced for Apple by Skydance Television and led by showrunner and executive producer David S. Gaye, ‘Foundation’ stars an acclaimed ensemble cast led by Emmy Award nominees Jared Harris and Lee Pace, alongside Lou Llobell and Leah Harvey.
Returning cast members of the 10 episode second season of ‘Foundation’ are Laura Birn, Cassian Bilton and Terrence Mann. The new members include Isabella Laughland (as Brother Constant), Kulvinder Ghir (as Poly Verisof), Ella-Rae Smith (as Queen Sareth of Cloud Dominion), Holt McCallany (as Warden Jaegger Fount), Rachel House (as Tellem Bond), Nimrat Kaur (as Yanna Seldon), Ben Daniels (as Bel Riose) and Dimitri Leonidas (as Hober Mallow).
