Based on Octavia E. Butler’s critically acclaimed, best-selling novel of the same name FX’s original series ‘Kindred’ is all set to come to Disney+ Hotstar. Showrun by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins (‘Watchmen’, ‘Outer Range’), all episodes of ‘Kindred’ will premiere soon on Disney+ Hotstar. (Keep reading for the exact date!)
‘Kindred’ is a fantasy-cum-sci-if drama that follows Dana, a young black woman and aspiring writer who has uprooted her life of familial obligation and relocated to Los Angeles, ready to claim a future that, for once, feels all her own. But as she begins to settle in her new home she finds herself being violently pulled back and forth in time, emerging at a nineteenth-century plantation and confronting secrets she never knew ran through her blood.
Janicza Bravo (‘Zola’) has directed the pilot episode of ‘Kindred’ which also has Alonso Alvarez credited as director and producer. The series stars Mallori Johnson, Micah Stock, Ryan Kwanten, Gayle Rankin, David Alexander Kaplan, Austin Smith, Sophina Brown and Sheria Irving.
All episodes of FX’s ‘Kindred’ are coming to Hulu (outside India) on 13th December and while Disney+ Hotstar hasn’t mentioned the release date yet, it should probably come around the same time in India, tentatively on 14th December, 2022.
