Even before the release of Tamil director Venkat Prabhu’s much-awaited movie ‘G.O.A.T’, an announcement of another movie by the same director is expected to release in December this year. This flick is entitled ‘Party’ which will be a comedy cum popcorn entertainer. This was expected to be released in September 2020 but due to financial issues with effect from the COVID-19 pandemic, it was deemed to have been shelved. This will be a better decision as most of the Indian filmography and especially the Tamil industry lack such relaxing and slapstick comedy moments which can be a rejig for the audience as well.
‘Party’ is written by the director himself and produced by T. Siva for Amma creations. However, more production companies are expected to give a hand to the effort. The film will feature actors Jayaram, Sathyaraj, Jai, Shiva, Shaam, Ramya Krishnan, and Regina Cassandra, with Sanchita Shetty, Nivetha Pethuraj, Nandha Durairaj, Nassar and Chandran appearing in supporting roles respectively. Prevalent positive of the flick will be about its performances which may be highly exciting to watch as it includes a powerhouse of talents in humour like actors Jayaram along with Sathyaraj, Ramya Krishnan, and Nassar who are known for their versatility.
Now as we come into its demerits, one will be definitely for its technical demeanour. A considerable number of visible changes are present during these 4 to 5 years. So additional requirements of work are to be practiced in this regard. Second will be its capability of storytelling by managing humour. This should be able to connect with today’s audience and thus will be a challenge. Hence, it may be believed that the success of G.O.A.T can act as extra fuel for the expectation of this small but significant flick.
