Last year, Gadar 2 was a surprise blockbuster. It was not at all a good film from an artistic point of view but the insane success of the film acted as an oxygen pump for the industry. They made an absolutely bonkers of a film that broke several box office records. By the time Gadar 2 finished its mammoth theatrical run, there were some high speculations that Sunny Deol could return in the sequels of his iconic films.
Ghayal was already massacred in a 2016 sequel so the chances of Ghatak and Border looked very strong. Well, there is finally some good news.
The iconic film Border is getting a sequel. The movie needs no introduction as it is a landmark in patriotic action films. The 1997 film captures a highly valorous event from the 1971 India-Pakistan War that took place in Longewala. The fierce battle when 120 Indian soldiers defeated thousands of Pakistani soldiers is one of the greatest tales of bravery in independent India.
The film directed by JP Dutta is getting a sequel. The songs, the direction and the characters were a rage and the movie earned a cult status in India. Although the details from the second part are not out yet, it will be an exciting film nonetheless.
Anurag Singh will be directing the film instead of JP Dutta and let’s wait to see what it is all about.
