Globally renowned movies database entertainment portal IMDb houses a list/widget of the most anticipated new Indian movies and shows (both theatrical and OTT) that ascertains the real-time popularity of that title. This is determined by the number of pageviews these titles are generating on IMDb. Each title is then ranked by IMDb as per the aggregate number of pageviews.
The topmost spot on the IMDb list has been bagged by the Gadar sequel titled ‘Gadar 2’. Set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak war, the film’s plot follows the journey of Tara Singh (Sunny Deol), who returns to the neighbouring country in order to get his son back.
On the second spot of the IMDb list is Atlee’s action thriller movie ‘Jawan’ starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. The film’s story ostensibly revolves around a wronged man, a soldier who makes it his mission to exact revenge from those responsible for his situation. The movie also features Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone, and Nayanthara in important roles.
And the third most anticipated Indian title on the IMDb list is the dark comedy action movie ‘Jailer’ starring Rajinikanth in the titular role of a courageous jailer, who tries to stop a gang of criminals from rescuing their leader from the prison he is in-charge of.
Besides theatrical releases, Hansal Mehta’s SonyLIV crime drama series ‘Scam 2003: The Telgi Story’ has made an entry to the IMDb top ten list. The show focuses on the much-publicized multi-state 2003 stamp paper scam which was masterminded by Abdul Kareem Telgi. Moreover, another Indian OTT title – SonyLIV’s thriller web series ‘The Jengaburu Case’ has once again made it to the IMDb most anticipated list.
