Wonder Woman actress, Gal Gadot, has provided an exciting update about the sequel of Netflix’s Red Notice (2021).
Gadot spoke about the upcoming sequel at Netflix’s TUDUM event. The actress revealed that the sequel will arrive on the streaming platform despite the negative critical reception of the first film. She has confirmed that the sequel’s script has reached her and is thrilled about the movie. She has also talked about its prospects with her production team. “We’re all talking about it. I don’t know if I can say anything! I already read the second script and it’s… whoo! We’re all very excited about it!” she disclosed.
Helmed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, the first Red Notice entry starred Gal Gadot, Ryan Reynolds, and Dwayne Johnson. Gadot played Sarah Black, aka The Bishop in the film. Black is a con artist and thief, and also Nolan Booth’s main competitor. Reynolds portrays Booth in the movie. Along with the duo, we see Johnson’s John Hartley, an FBI agent who looks to chase them down.
Critics heavily panned Red Notice. It has a rating of 36% on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite this scenario, the film broke several streaming records. It became the most-watched movie within 28 days of its release on Netflix. In addition, it was the fifth most-watched streaming title of 2021. These records inspired the streaming platform to greenlight two back-to-back sequels.
Gal Gadot looks to earn another Netflix hit in the form of Heart of Stone, scheduled to come out on August 11. Apart from Gadot, the film’s tremendous cast consists of Jamie Dornan, Alia Bhatt, Sophie Okonedo, Jing Lusi, Paul Ready, and more.
Netflix has not yet revealed the release window of Red Notice’s sequel. Stay tuned for more updates.
