After appearing in an episode of the television series Legends in 2015, English actor Nicholas Galitzine rose to fame with titles like ‘Purple Hearts’, ‘Red, White, and Royal Blue’, and most recently, the racy rom-com, ‘The Idea of You’, opposite superstar Anne Hathaway.
Next up for him, is a deviation from his usual charming chocolate boy roles, as he has been officially cast to play the blond barbarian who inspired the popular Mattel toy He-Man in Amazon MGM’s upcoming film adaptation ‘Masters of the Universe’. The long-delayed film will be released in theaters on June 5, 2026.
‘Bumblebee’ director Travis Knight will be directing the movie for Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel. This final announcement comes as a conclusion to the countless directors – including ‘Kung Fu Panda’ filmmaker John Stevenson, ‘Wicked’ maker Jon M. Chu, ‘Charlie’s Angels’ creator McG, and ‘The Lost City’ duo Aaron and Adam Nee – who have cycled through the movie since the inception of its concept back in 2007.
Although plot details are being kept under wraps, the film will follow Prince Adam, as he crashes to the Earth in a spaceship as a child and then, decades later, returns to his home planet to defend it from the evil forces of the bad guy, Skeletor. However, to defeat the powerful villain, he must uncover the mysteries of his past and become He-Man, aka the most powerful man in the universe.
