Though the ending of “Game of Thrones” wasn’t as grand as many had hoped and left a bad taste in the mouth, it gave birth to some of the most exciting spin-offs. The wave isn’t stopping anytime soon.
“House of the Dragon” is about to launch its second season, but the excitement doesn’t stop there. The makers are actively working on two new “Game of Thrones” spin-offs.
The first on the list is a series about Aegon the Conqueror, who can be considered the first Targaryen king. Though the series is in the works, there is no official greenlight from the studio, but it is said that Mattson Tomlin is working on the script.
Like “House of the Dragon,” the series on Aegon the Conqueror will also be based on the “Fire & Blood” novel.
“In speaking to George, it became really clear, ‘This is history, treat this like it is what happened,'” Tomlin told a reporter. “Unlike the original series, I don’t have thousands of pages to go off to adapt. I’ve got a couple hundred that I’m really focused on, and in those pages of ‘Fire & Blood,’ there are a lot of clues.”
“It kind of turns into doing Napoleon or doing Alexander the Great or doing some great historical figure where we know a lot about the guy. We know where he was, we know who he conquered, we know who lived, and we know who died.”
“That all becomes the plot, and then it becomes my job to go, but what did it mean thematically? How did it feel? What were the emotions when this person died and this person lived? We don’t have the context. We don’t know what anybody said.”
Besides this, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight” is also on the way, and HBO is officially working on it. In the current timeline, you might see a release in 2025.
“Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.”
But as the wait begins, “House of the Dragon” season 2 is about to drop. You can stream it on JioCinema starting June 16th.
