Within ten days of its theatrical release Vishwak Sen’s ‘Gangs of Godavari’ has now got its digital premiere date. The action drama film helmed by Krishna Chaitanya, ‘Gangs of Godavari’ will launch on Netflix on 14th June, 2024 in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
This allows the film only two weeks exclusively in theatres as opposed to a normal four week window for regional films. What’s more interesting is that ‘Gangs of Godavari’ isn’t an exception and the same trend has been followed by some other films as well.
‘Gangs of Godavari’ theatrical release was delayed multiple times before finally fixing on 31st May. Probably the makers don’t want to upset the viewers by further delaying its OTT release.
The film opened to mixed reviews with praises for the actors. It seems to have too much going on story wise that makes it quite overwhelming for the viewers to take and absorb. It will be interesting to see how it performs on Netflix.
‘Gangs of Godavari’ is written and directed by Krishna Chaitanya. Other than Vishwak Sen, ‘Gangs of Godavari’ also stars Anjali and Neha Shetty in prominent roles along with Sai Kumar, Nassar and Goparaju Ramana among others. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed music for the film.
Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya have produced ‘Gangs of Godavari’ with Venkat Upputuri and Gopi Chand Innamuri as co-producers. Presented by Srikara Studios, banners behind ‘Gangs of Godavari’ are Sithara Entertainment and Fortune Four Cinemas. The film will premiere on Netflix on 14th June, 2024.
