As you might know, Gangubai Kathiawadi is the most successful Indian film on Netflix. Not only did it become the first Indian film to secure the number one position in “Netflix Top 10 Global” but also remained in the top three position for continuously three weeks.
Even in its fourth week, it was in the fourth position. No Indian film till now has been so great and consistent with its performance.
But even after such a humongous success, the film failed to enter the list of “Top 10 Most Popular Films” in the Non-English category.
This list contains 10 movies which garnered maximum views in the first 28 days of their release.
In the first 26 days of its release, Gangubai Kathiawadi garnered 43,120,000 hours of views.
To enter the list it should have garnered 15,200,000 hours of views on the 23rd and 24th of May which is almost impossible because it couldn’t garner that views even in the first full week run.
So, sadly, Gangubai Kathiawadi missed out on a place in the “Top 10 Most Popular Films”. And the list doesn’t seem interesting to us when there is no Indian film in it.
Now, all eyes lie on RRR which has the potential of making it to the list. In just 2.5 days of release on Netflix, RRR showed tremendous views and we hope that they make it to the list.
Netflix could grab only the Hindi audio of the film so it is a challenge. But anyway, we wish all the best.
