Sai Pallavi’s latest acting venture ‘Gargi’ helmed by Gautham Ramachandran has been released in theatres today and the intense legal drama is unanimously being hailed by critics and audiences alike. Some critics have even termed the film as the best Tamil movie of the year, and they have also given a big thumbs-up to Sai Pallavi’s terrific performance.
After Gargi’s theatrical release, all eyes are now on the film’s OTT platform and streaming date. As per the latest update, the post theatrical streaming rights for ‘Gargi’ have been acquired by the SonyLIV OTT platform. And keeping in mind the extremely positive word of mouth regarding the movie, it seems that SonyLIV has already got a winner under its belt.
This is not the first time SonyLIV has acquired the post theatrical streaming rights for a critically acclaimed Tamil language movie. Because this year itself, SonyLIV had also become the streaming home for the hard-hitting political cop drama ‘Nenjuku Needhi’ and the internationally acclaimed rural drama ‘Kadaisi Vivasayi’.
Coming back to ‘Gargi’, the film’s basic plotline follows the titular schoolteacher Gargi (essayed by Sai Pallavi), who is all geared up to get married soon. Her father Brahmanandam (RS Shivaji) is employed as a security guard in a housing society. One day, when her father does not return home, Gargi learns that he has been wrongfully accused in a sexual assault case of a minor. Gargi’s ensuing legal battle to prove her father’s innocence forms the rest of the film’s plot. Stay tuned to Binged for the latest updates on the streaming date for Gargi on the SonyLIV OTT platform.
