Homegrown streaming giant SonyLIV has been teasing audiences with explosive teasers and clips from its upcoming series, ‘Garmi‘. Now, the streamer has also announced the release date for the crime and political thriller series. ‘Garmi’ will premiere on SonyLIV on 21st April, 2023.
The series is directed by master filmmaker and actor, Tigmanshu Dhulia. Film buffs will know him from the top notch movies he’s directed, such as Paan Singh Tomar and Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster. Garmi is a crime thriller, centred on the murky world of student politics in Indian universities.
Garmi stars versatile actor Vyom Yadav as the primary protagonist, Arvind Shukla. A small town boy, he comes to the big city with dreams of becoming a civil servant. However, he gets caught up in the sleazy world of politics and crime, with manipulative players looking to leverage his hot-headed nature.
The rest of the cast of Garmi compromises Mukesh Tiwari, Vineet Kumar, Pankaj Saraswat, Jatin Goswami, Puneet Singh, Anurag Thakur, Anushka Kaushik, Disha Thakur, Dheerendra Gautam, among others. The series is produced by veteran actress Swaroop Sampat, along with Hemal Ashok Thakkar.
