Gen V EP Teases The ‘Rotten’ Outcomes Of Joining ‘The Seven’ From The Boys
One of the executive producers of spinoff Gen V, Michele Fazekas, has teased that some characters from the show may join ‘The Seven’ in the original series, The Boys.
In a recent interview with TV Line, Fazekas indicated that some teen supes from Gen V may become a part of ‘The Seven’. Obviously, this will come at paying a heavy moral cost, courtesy of Vought and ‘The Seven’.
“That will always be the carrot,” Fazekas said. “It’s like, this is a thing that you want, but the carrot is interesting because the carrot’s starting to get rotten, and I think our people are starting to figure that out – which is not to say that they’re not going to take it anyway. Because if you limit their choices enough, it starts looking pretty good. But I don’t know… that’s another thing where you want to be very, very mindful of when you pull that card,” she added.
Season 1 of Gen V shared a direct connection with The Boys. Throughout the season, we witness Marie Moreau and her friends from Godolkin University encountering big personalities like Ashley Barnett (Vought International CEO) and Congresswoman Victoria Neuman. Ultimately, they figured out their university’s true purpose, which was to study metahumans created by Compound V. On the other hand, we also see a dangerous virus, powerful enough to take down supes, being created at the Woods. Marie and her friends give their all to sabotage the plans of Sam Riordan and Cate Dunlap, which involved releasing the experimented supes from the facility. However, Homelander becomes a substantial obstacle in their path. Marie and all of her friends, like Andre, Emma, and Jordan, found themselves inside a sealed hospital room at a location unknown to them. On the other hand, Vought starts hailing Sam and Cate as the heroes.
It seems like the duo of Cate and Sam may join ‘The Seven’ in future. Most importantly, they now have Homelander’s support. On top of this scenario, both possess immense and dangerous powers. Cate specialises in mind control. But she needs to make physical contact to unleash her mind control powers. In addition, she is capable of trapping supes into their minds, stripping their abilities and taking their lives.
On the other hand, Sam may turn out as ruthless as Homelander. His conscience is the only thing that can save him. But we also know how Cate dealt with that issue in Gen V’s finale, thanks to her mind-control abilities.
If Cate and Sam end up joining ‘The Seven’ in future, then we should not be surprised after watching Marie and her friends shaking hands with The Boys. We know Billy Butcher’s gang hates supes. But they do not mind accepting the aid of good supes to take down the bad ones.
Let’s see how Gen V Season 1’s events connect with The Boys Season 4. Stay tuned for more updates.
