The trailer for Ekta Kapoor’s ALTBalaji’s upcoming new series ‘Girgit’ is out now and nobody in it is what they seem. Helmed by Santosh Shetty (‘Shrikant Bashir’), ‘Girgit’ will premiere on ALTBalaji on 27th October, 2021.
Set in the picturesque landscape of Manali, ‘Girgit’ trailer begins with a steamy scene between Ranbir (Nakul Sahdev) and Avantika, where he accidentally calls her Jahnvi. He avoids her question saying that they will get late for their roka ceremony but unfortunately there too, after putting a ring on her finger, he calls her Jahnvi.
Turns out Jahnvi is his ex-wife who had been missing and has now been found dead near a jungle lodge. The doubts are that Ranbir who is obsessed with her even after her death, really loved her so much or is he the one who killed her?
On the other hand Avantika too isn’t as innocent as she might seem. She discovers that Ranbir would have gotten ₹100 crores for marrying Jahnvi and now that she knows this, does she want to marry him for love or for money?
Meanwhile, somewhere in Mumbai, Mahi and Shamoli answer a phone where a cross connection changes their lives. Over the phone when they hear Lyndoh asking for his money from Ranbir, who says he didn’t ask him to kill anybody, they suspect something big and record their conversation to take advantage later.
And then starts the whole mystery and drama when Mahi and Shamoli call Ranbir to blackmail him and ask for ₹50 lakhs cash money. Ranbir then seeks out to Candy, a gangster kinda girl, to go negotiate with the girls on his behalf.
It all gets more convoluted as Lyndoh looks for Candy who has most probably been killed, Ranbir searches for Avantika who goes missing, Mahi and Shamoli scared for their life and above all Inspector Rathod on the hunt for the killer. And all this web of love, lie and betrayal seems to be related to a mask that appears a lot toward the end of the trailer. The iconic ‘Love, Sex Aur Dhokha’ music in the last segment of the trailer spices it up even more.
‘Girgit’ on ALTBalaji stars Nakul Sahdev, Taniya Kalrra, Trupti Khamkar, Ashmita Jaggi, Samar Vermani, Shahwar Ali and Ashish Tyagi among others. It is jointly produced by Rangrezza Films and ALTBalaji. ‘Girgit’ is the first web series coming from Rangrezza Films.
‘Girgit’ will start streaming on ALTBalaji from 27th October, 2021.
