It is Glen Powell’s time and we all know it! His latest collaboration with iconic helmer Richard Linklater, Hit Man, has received a fantastic opening on Netflix. The streamer’s latest Global Top 10 (Film) rankings (from June 3 to June 9, 2024) are out. And without a doubt, Linklater’s action rom-com has earned the top spot.
This little action rom-com from director Richard Linklater has earned over 10.8 million views and more than 20.8 million hours of viewing. The latest Glen Powell starrer leads Netflix’s streaming charts, uprooting Jennifer Lopez’s Atlas from the #1 spot. Atlas ranks second with over 8.9 million views.
Hit Man first premiered at the last year’s Venice Film Festival, where it received a strong positive response from critics. It also received a limited theatrical release on May 24, before arriving on Netflix on June 7.
Apart from Glen Powell, the film stars Adria Arjona, Austin Amelio, Retta, Molly Bernard, and more. The leading man plays Gary Johnson, a tech guy and college professor turned undercover mole.
On Rotten Tomatoes, Hit Man has scored a ‘fresh’ 97% critic score based on over 220 certified reviews, with a strong audience score of 93% with nearly 50 reviews. Stream it now on Netflix. Stay tuned for more updates.
