Amazon Prime Video has announced the renewal of its globally successful Australian Amazon Original series ‘Deadloch’ for season two. The award winning crime comedy series was launched last year and comes from creators Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan.
Season two of ‘Deadloch’ will consist of six episodes, production on which will start later this year. This new season heads to the Top End of Australia and sees the return of Kate Box and Madeleine Saimi as Dulcie Collins and Eddie Redcliffe.
The detective duo are in Darwin investigating the death of Eddie’s former policing partner, Bushy, but when the bodies of two Top End icons are discovered in a remote town, they are flung into a new sweatier, stickier investigation. Nina Oyama and Alicia Gardiner will return to reprise their roles in season two.
Certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, Season One of ‘Deadloch’ has retained a 100% score from critic reviews and an 89% audience score. The first season, set in Tasmania, saw two very different detectives thrown together to solve the murder of a man. The series won five AACTA Awards earlier this year including Best Acting in a Comedy for Kate Box and Best Screenplay in Television for Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan.
‘Deadloch’ season 2 is created and written by Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan who also serve as executive producers alongside Kevin Whyte and Tanya Phegan from Guesswork Television. Beck Cole and Gracie Otto are the series director with Andy Walker as producer.
‘Deadloch’ Season 2 will launch soon globally on Amazon Prime Video.
