Last month, after a lengthy hiatus, Amazon confirmed the arrival of Season 2 of Neil Gaiman’s Good Omens on Prime Video. And now, we have its official trailer! The first season premiered back in May 2019. After four long years, the holy/unholy duo of Michael Sheen’s Aziraphale and David Tennant’s Crowley has returned. This time, they have to solve the mystery behind the sudden disappearance of archangel Gabriel (played by Jon Hamm).
The show’s first season followed Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s 1990 novel. However, things will be different this time. According to Amazon, Season 2 will “explore storylines that go beyond the original source material.”
Gaiman has also executively produced the upcoming instalment. On the other hand, all episodes have been helmed by Douglas Mackinnon.
Apart from the original cast members, Season 2 features some new actors, such as Shelly Conn (who plays the demon Beelzebub) and Quelin Sepulveda (who plays Angel Muriel). We also have Liz Carr (as the angel Saraqael) in this one.
Season 1 bagged Saturn, BAFTA, and Emmy nominations and won the Fantasy Writers of America and Hugo awards. It has an approval rating of 84% (based on 97 reviews) on Rotten Tomatoes.
Good Omens Season 2 will premiere on July 28 on Prime Video. It is produced by BBC Studios Production, Amazon Studios, Narrativia, and The Blank Corporation. Stay tuned for more updates.
