Gormint, earlier titled as Ministry, is a political satire planned by Amazon Prime Videos and creative heads at All India Backchod. When it was announced initially, Irfan Khan was roped in as the lead actor.
Unfortunately for everyone involved, two disasters struck back to back, and the show was put on a backburner. The lead actor Irfan Khan was diagnosed with cancer, and the creative team (All India Backchod) were embroiled in a separate controversy.
After a long gap, things are back on track for the production of the series. The title of the series has been changed from Ministry to Gormint. A new replacement has been put in place for Irfan Khan. The Tumhari Sulu fame actor Manav Kaul is the new lead.
Shikha Talsania, Girish Kulkarni, Shulabha Arya, and Smita Jayankar is the rest of the actors who will be seen in critical parts. Manav Kaul will play a Bollywood actor who is appointed as Union Culture Minister by the Government of India. What happens with the narcissistic Bollywood actor in charge of such a portfolio is what the series depicts satirically and with loads of fun.
