Last month, we had made our readers aware of a Batman universe-based spin-off series titled ‘Gotham Knights’ getting a pilot order at CW channel. In another important follow-up update for fans, ‘Gotham Knights’ has cast Oscar Morgan, Olivia Rose Keegan, and Navia Robinson for three key roles for its pilot in addition to the previously announced actors Fallon Smythe and Tyler DiChiara.
The update has come at a time when Matt Reeves’ version of the caped crusader ‘The Batman’ is successfully running in theatres globally and is being unanimously acclaimed by audiences and critics alike. However, there would be no Batman in the ‘Gotham Knights’ plotline.
‘Gotham Knights’ would be a one-hour drama set amidst the turbulent times following Bruce Wayne’s murder. For the killing, the needle of suspicion logically falls towards the children of Batman’s enemies. At this juncture, Batman’s adopted son teams up with the rag-tag bunch of the accused and together they become the new protectors of the crime-ridden Gotham city which is now living in its erstwhile hero Batman’s absence.
Oscar Morgan, whose earlier acting credits include TV show ‘Warren’ and last year’s drama film ‘Peaceful’, will be essaying the central role of Bruce Wayne’s adopted son Turner Hayes. Despite feeling out of place in Wayne’s affluent world, he is determined to live up to his billionaire father’s name following his death.
Olivia Rose Keagan would play a character called Duela, an expert thief who was born in Arkham Asylum, has an unpredictable demeanor but is nevertheless a tough survivor. While Navia Robinson will play a teenager Carrey Kelly, who will be portrayed as an idealistic and fearless person who talked her way into being Batman’s unlikely sidekick.
Besides ‘Gotham Knights’, a Batman spin-off show based on the character of Batman’s well-known adversary Penguin starring Colin Farrell has been greenlit by HBO Max. Moreover, ‘The Flash’ movie is also expected to release later in June 2023 where Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck will reprise their roles as Batman. Stay tuned to Binged for the latest updates on the ‘Gotham Knights’ series.
