Guilty Minds is now streaming on Prime Video. Against the schedule on 22nd April, it started streaming on 21st April at 8 PM.
Prime Video was known for its series which finds a way amongst the masses. Mirzapur, The Family Man, Paatal Lok and now they are ready to shock the OTT industry with Rohit Shetty’s Indian Police Force.
But the last few months have not been well for Prime Video. The last title which drew attention to the platform was Deepika Padukone’s Gehraiyaan.
Since then Prime Video tried hard for Sharmaji Namkeen but could never manage to become a centre of conversation amongst the cinephiles.
Bestseller and Guilty Minds which are the two latest series by the platform simply failed to penetrate the attention of the masses.
Seeing any social media platform makes it clear that the series has yet not made it to the mass appeal at least in the initial period.
Thus the bigger question is, is Prime Video losing its hold amongst the masses?
Is it following Netflix’s way which focuses more on woke content than what the audience demands?
At least the last two series by the platforms reveal that.
But the upcoming Siddharth Malhotra starrer Indian Police Force may come as a rescue.
Overall, it is a clear indication that Prime Video is not making the series it was loved for and it’s high time they focus on their marketing strategy too.
While promoting Bandish Bandits or Mirzapur, they left no stone unturned by collaborating with meme pages, and YouTubers and making it aggressive.
But now their social media team seems to have been slowed down. Even though Gehraiyaan was successful because of Deepika Padukone’s face value and the content in it, the way Prime Video promoted it is still a matter of self-assessment.
Long story short, vintage Prime Video was better than the current one.
