Fans of the globally popular English filmmaker Guy Ritchie, and more particularly fans of his 2019 film ‘The Gentlemen’, must already be aware of an upcoming spin-off television series inspired by the movie. Last year, the show was given a go ahead by OTT giant Netflix.
And now, as per the latest update, the eight-episode Netflix series has cast English actor Max Beesley, who will essay the role of Henry Collins in the show. Max Beesley had previously collaborated with Guy Ritchie in last year’s spy action flick ‘Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre’. He has earlier lent his acting skills for several projects including shows like ‘The Outsider’, ‘Homeland’, ‘Suits’, and ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’, amongst others. He will next be seen in Idris Elba starrer Apple TV+ series ‘Hijack’.
The Netflix series based on Guy Ritchie’s ‘The Gentlemen’ revolves around a man named Eddie Horniman (played by Theo James), who inherits the massive estate of his deceased aristocrat father. He becomes the new Duke of Halstead but later learns that the property is located on the top of the largest weed farm in Europe, which is owned by Mickey Pearson (which was played by Matthew McConaughey in ‘The Gentlemen’ film).
The parent film’s helmer Guy Ritchie will direct the first two episodes of ‘The Gentlemen’ spin-off series for Netflix. He will also serve as one of the show’s executive producers besides also being the co-writer.
