2024 has proved to be a wonderful year for Apple TV+ so far. Having already released an acclaimed slate of movies and series, the streaming service has more good titles up its sleeve!
Its most recent upcoming limited series starring Jake Gyllenhaal ‘Presumed Innocent’ was originally scheduled to debut exclusively on the platform on June 14. However, the release date has now been moved up to June 12, a few days after its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 9.
An exploration of obsession, sex, politics, and the power and limits of love, the show will dive deep into the aftermath of a horrific murder as it upends Chicago’s prosecuting attorney’s office when one of their own is suspected of the crime. The eight-episode show will narrate a gripping tale as the accused struggles to keep his family and marriage together.
The show will mark the second project for Gyllenhaal this year following the massive success of his rugged action thriller ‘Road House’. The crime fiction feature broke records and went on to become Amazon MGM Studios’ most-watched film debut as it garnered more than 50 million global viewers over its first two weekends.
Starring alongside Gyllenhaal will be Ruth Negga, Bill Camp, and Elizabeth Marvel. With a promising cast, the show is all set to offer a fresh take on Alan J. Pakula’s 1990 film of the same name!
