The recently released military sci-fi action series ‘Halo’, which started streaming since 24th March 2022, has reportedly broken a viewership record. The show has become the most-watched series premiere internationally on Paramount+ in the first 24 hours, as per the OTT platform. The previous record-holder for maximum premiere viewership in the first 24 hours was held by drama series ‘1883’, which premiered in December last year. Although the precise viewing stats for ‘Halo’ have not been officially revealed yet.
‘Halo’ is a nine-part series based on the immensely popular military action-adventure science fiction game of the same name. It features Pablo Schreiber as a genetically enhanced super-soldier called Master Chief and the premise revolves around how the protagonist defends the human race from an advanced alien alliance known as Covenant in the 26th century.
Now, moving over to the second part of the article: Where to stream ‘Halo’ series in India? The opening episode of ‘Halo’ started streaming in India on the Voot OTT platform from 24th March, that is, on the same date when it was aired on Paramount+ globally. Eminent Indian actress Shabana Azmi (Arth, Masoom) is also a part of the show. She has essayed the role of Admiral Margaret Parangosky in the series.
However, despite ‘Halo’ setting a new premiere viewership record, it has been unable to garner unanimous acclaim from audiences and critics alike. Regarding the show’s critical response, ‘Halo’ currently holds a 61% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 41 reviews. The audience score stands marginally higher at 64% based on 819 user ratings. Moreover, Halo’s Metacritic weighted average score is 61/100 based on 19 critic reviews. While ‘Halo’ has currently got an IMDb rating of 7.1 based on around 5.3k votes.
