Breakout star of the critically acclaimed feature ‘The Worst Person in the World’, Renate Reinsve, received the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actress for the project. She also earned a nomination for the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for the same.
Next up for her are highly anticipated projects: ‘Handling the Undead’, ‘A Different Man’, ‘Another End’, and ‘Armand’. Directed by Thea Hvistendahl, the first name in the list ‘Handling the Undead’ follows the aftermath of a visceral storm that results in the unimaginable: all those who have been missing for two months come back to life.
For families of the victims, hope mingles with horror. The project is an adaptation of the 2005 horror novel by Swedish writer John Ajvide Lindqvist, that revolves around the unexplained reanimation of thousands of recently deceased people in Stockholm.
The 140-second trailer captures the gist of how the plot focuses more on the reactions of society and the many conflicts that arise between Swedish authorities and the relatives of the undead, than the undead themselves. An official selection for the Sundance Film Festival 2024, the trailer sets a disturbing, albeit a beautifully shot premise.
The eerie photomontages, coupled with the unsettling background score are sure to make this one a must watch!
