Hansal Mehta’s ’Faraaz’ Trailer: A Thrilling Hostage Drama

By Binged Bureau - Jan 16, 2023 @ 02:01 pm

T-Series has dropped the trailer for ‘Faraaz’ and it’s one intriguing tale of a battle between true humanity and pseudo religious beliefs. Helmed by National Award winning filmmaker Hansal Mehta, ‘Faraaz’ will premiere in theatres on 3rd February, 2023.

‘Faraaz’ trailer begins with hustle filled scenes from Dhaka on the night of 01st July 2016 when suddenly a group of terrorists attack a peaceful aesthetic high end cafe. Without any word they start shooting people in the restaurant ruthlessly.

A few are taken as hostages and what follows are two tracks of struggles. One on the outside where police and government are trying their best to tackle the situation and free the hostages safely. The other struggle is inside the cafe where a young man stands up against the terrorists and calls them out not for just their pseudo religious beliefs but also their inhuman nature.

‘Faraaz’ unfolds events that followed over one claustrophobic night moulded into a heart wrenching hostage drama. It’s an untold heroic tale about a young boy who stood tall in the darkest of times

Billed as an action thriller film ‘Faraaz’ tells the tale of how in the face of violent adversity, humanity wins. Based on true events of the Holey Artsian Cafe attack in Bangladesh in July 2016, ‘Faraaz’ is the story of the time when five young militants ravaged the upscale cafe and held over 50 people as hostages for nearly 12 dreadful hours.

Directed by Hansal Mehta and Jai Mehta serving as co-director, ‘Faraaz’ has an exciting and fresh ensemble led by Aditya Rawal and Zahan Kapoor alongside Aamir Ali, Juhi Babbar, Resham Sahaani and Pallak Lalwani among others.

The film is written by Raghav Kakkar, Kashyap Kapoor and Ritesh Shah. ‘Faraaz’ is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anubhav Sinha, Sahil Saigal, Sakshi Bhatt and Mazahir Mandsaurwala. T-Series, Mahana Films and Benaras Mediaworks are the production companies bankrolling ‘Faraaz’ that will release in theatres on 3rd February, 2023.
